This is the first in-depth report I've read about "Canada Village" and it's an eye-opener. I only ran a search engine on it because FR doesn't allow direct posting of articles from the Alexandria Town Talk any more. I live about 35 miles northwest of Marksville and used to work there, so I found this of great interest. It's long, but a worthwhile read.

Canadian Papers were running items about what was called 'a close and personal business relationship' between Bill Clinton and Canadian Billionaire Belinda Stronach, chief executive of auto parts maker Magna International Inc.

Stronach, who is in the process of divorcing her Norwegian 4 time Olympic skating husband, met two years ago when Clinton spoke at a charity golf and dinner event at Magna's private golf course in Toronto.

Theyve been spotted several times since including a private dinner party in September to honor rock legend Ronnie Hawkins.

Canadian and US Tabloids featured a photo of Clinton and Stronach at the event.

The more recent Canadian attention may have been sparked by the impending divorce and perhaps Clinton being in the Stronach family box at the Preakness..

You've really got to laugh at a plan to take ghetto dwellers from New Orleans and make them into . . . FARMERS! It's that delicious combination of condescension and unreality from an upper class do-gooder. Also at the rich snobs in Palm Beach keeping it real with the peeps: "When they walked off that bus, these people were in the only clothes they owned," says [Bambi!!] Deanto, a tanned, petite woman with so much energy she almost seems to vibrate. "But now, once they've gotten cleaned up and they feel like human beings again, they're turning out to be some of the most wonderful, generous, kind-hearted people really that I've ever met. There's no prejudice here, that's for sure." No doubt Bambi will now start making the local circuit as an expert on racial problems and the black experience.
