I wonder what the heck is really going on? Or should I say what the heck really 'went' on? I've never seen a more BS story than Miller's 'explanation' on why she did time and what her GJ testimony consisted of. Something 'odd' went on here to say the least.

Time chief expected to leave by end of year

SETH SUTEL

Associated Press

NEW YORK - Norman Pearlstine, the longtime editorial chief of the Time Inc. magazine empire, is planning to step aside by the end of the year or even sooner, several people familiar with the matter said Friday.

Pearlstine is likely to be succeeded as editor-in-chief of Time Inc. by John Huey, who is currently the editorial director, according to people who spoke on condition they not be named since the announcement had not been made.

The move has been widely anticipated for months, but the timing was uncertain.

Earlier this week, Pearlstine announced plans to write a book. Pearlstine, who is 63 years old, has been editor-in-chief of Time Inc. for 11 years. Huey is 57.

Dawn Bridges, a spokeswoman for Time Inc., declined to comment.

The New York Post and The Wall Street Journal both ran stories on the matter on Friday............

IMHO, I think a lot of the BS has to do with Alamoudi- there are figures in both parties, various lobbying groups, and the press that don't care to open up that can of worms any sooner than they have to. And some may not be able to given how much of the Global Relief Foundation thing is still under investigation, and how many of those people connected with it are undergoing trial, facing trial in the future, or still loose and in need of being hunted down.

Remember, we have Joseph Wilson, Kerry-team player, Rock Creek Corporation guy and former ambassador to Gabon playing a central role in this theater;

But we also have one of Norquist's buddies, David H. Safavian, who worked as a registered foreign agent of Gabon and the Republic of Congo. Safavian was the former procurement guy in the Federal Gov.

His wife, like Wilson's, bring to mind some conflict of interest problems since both have or had goverment jobs.

Gabon is a country which formerly openly exported uranium. Its mines supposedly dried up but that may have been a cover for a more profitable covert export of uranium.

Republic of Congo is of course another uranium source and one from which the US has procured uranium long ago. Al Qaeda reportedly sought uranium there on behalf of bin Laden- and prospectors have been scrounging around the abandoned mines since 1998 for uranium. In 2000, a Kenyan middleman offered to supply Iraq with uranium from Congo. North Korea has been meddling too. Congo exports cobalt and other mine products today. The country is a mess; the UN and the French are also involved. Not to mention South Africa.

There's a lot more to all this than meets the eye.

I think there is more than meets the eye going on between Libby and Miller. Somebody on another thread asked if maybe Miller was CIA. Anything's possible. Her pro-WMD stories leading up to the war still make my scalp itchy.
