U.S. nabs al-Qaida Web site producer (Good Article)
NBC News ^ | October 16 2005 | Ashraf al-Taie

Posted on 10/16/2005 4:32:26 PM PDT by jmc1969

The Web site run by al-Qaida in Iraq was strangely quiet during the referendum. There were no threats against voters, no boasts of disrupting the vote.

And now we know one reason why. Dijana was responsible for much of what has appeared on the Web site called "al-Qaida in Iraq," including provocative videos of suicide bombings and crucial communications to al-Qaida fighters.

Here is how the al-Qaida site works: On any given day in any of a dozen cities, a suicide bomb explodes. The target is an American convoy, local Iraqi police or perhaps civilians exiting a mosque. Within minutes, a report is sent out by news services like The AP and MSNBC.com. But, the news also circulates on a fascinating and, some would say, disturbing Web site operated by al-Qaida.

The "al-Qaida in Iraq" Web site immediately takes "credit" for the bombing. In one typical case, just three hours after an attack, the site showed video of a man identified as the suicide bomber Abu Musab al-Iraqi, who says, "I have dreamed about this moment. I am sure if my family is watching this they will be more proud of me."

Musab's words are followed by a video of a car he is said to be driving, blowing up in the midst of an American convoy. The incident is replayed again and again with more of Musab's speech superimposed over the ball of flames and smoke rising above the U.S. convoy. "Thank God this day I went to kill many crusaders." His declaration ends, "Today I will be in heaven."

The Web site’s home page features pictures of Zarqawi and Osama bin Laden.

With commercial planes we turned America into hell." The Web site also publishes detailed analyses of the sometime cryptic statements released by the two al-Qaida leaders.

Not to worry, the site which is famous for deleting any dissent whatsoever, of any type, or any satire, and often most humor, is made so poorly that anyone can bypass it in about two seconds. (Of course, the posts are always deleted, unless they say in them that "I suggest you delete this" so that the Free Republic appears to have slightly less censorship than it does. Frankly, the "Free" in Free Republic stands for something other than actually Freedom. Perhaps it's the "no cost" aspect.)

No, here's actual debate for you: The Republicans have been a miserable failure for five years. Icasualties.org shows increasing rates of casualties fairly consistently. Depending on what governmental official is speaking on which day, we either have one Iraqi battalion or 30, if Bush is speaking.

This is a failure of Maxwell Smartian proportions, and only true zombies still believe in the garbage that we've been spoon fed.

Now, DELETE AWAY! Oh yes, and ban the account so I can't post again, you know, in the name of free speech and all. After all, you guys can defend your positions, can't you?

Snort.

Thanks for the info. The website has been an important communication tool for the terrorists. I think the terrorist webmaster will give a lot of valuable information regarding the terrorists in Iraq.

Now, since you guys are unable to defend your position against even the weakest resistance, I suggest you immediately delete this post and cover your ears and sing "LALALALALALALALA."

The post may be deleted, but I won't be covering my ears.

I'm too busy laughing at you, you pathetic little nothing.

Oh yes, and speaking as a conservative, the idea of record budget deficits makes me want to puke.

If the Republican party ever gets in power again, we need to reconsider returning Texas to Mexico.

Worst... president... ever.

My son is a liberal, unfortunately, and he went to DU one day and reported back that they are a bunch of "freaks". At least he respects freepers, even if he usually doesn't agree with us.

See? I knew you guys could defend yourselves against the substance of the post!

Oh right, you can't.

What happens when a FReeper posts on DU? Are the results as hilarious as ZOTs?

Tombstoning is the term they use, but it's not nearly as fun a a good Zotting.

I post on DU all the time (in the non-political General Discussion forum). Once I get my 1,000th post, I'll start Freeping the bastards.

So I guess the point of the Free Republic site with their instant banning and deletion of dissent is that they can prove that they're as stupid as the worst of DU.

If that's the case, well done!

Kudos to you for sticking around to post a response. If you read FR enough, you would know there is plenty of disagreements with Bush policy.

We are in perfect agreement on this point.

Worst... president... ever.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with FDR.

Goodbye and good luck.

All of which raises the interesting and secretive prospect that American security experts are monitoring and hacking these Web sites to gather up both information and members of the insurgency and their supporters.

Anyone visiting these sites from Iraq is a fool.

He who lives by the polls will die by the polls, ask the 1% of Democrats with a brain how true this is.

President Bush is a great leader and he does not govern by the poll numbers as the "nothing" President did for eight years. That is why majority of people and history will only remember him by the BJ from "that woman".

Anyway, as I told you in an earlier post, your terrorists allies in Iraq are losing very badly and they could not stop any significant political milestone from happening, and all what they do is kill innocent civilians. You may go and ask your DUmmy friends if they know about a war won by blowing up women and children, it never happended before and it will never happen.

Now go back to DUmmy Land.
