LOL! Most doubtful that kind of revelation about a nominee, would have the same damaging effect today.
The problem with Doug Ginsberg was, he not only smoked pot as a student, but also as a Harvard Law School professor. Some thought he was still a pothead. IIRC, Bill Bennett was the one who got Ginsberg to withdraw.
