Good grief. Prayers for all their families.
2 A.M., I figured it was a sleepy driver/head on crash, but it says it was a rear end crash. Odd.
Similar incident here in NW Indiana about a year ago, turned out the truck in question had just left the shoulder and was not up to speed when it was rear-ended. Driver initially lied about where he was at.
O-M-G! Prayers to the families.
Jr. M got in late last night from a band contest too. I was worried as any parent would be when their kids are away. Jr. M is a mid-schooler but was asked to be in the hs band for all the marching contests around the state this month. BTW, they won it all - FIRST PLACE!
Some = Someone
I wonder if this bus was equipped with seat belts. They usually aren't, and they are not required by Wisconsin law. School busses without seat belts are not safe, no matter what BS is used to convince people and legislatore otherwise.

Article says that it was one of four 'chartered' buses...so, if it was one of those Lamers, et.al Greyhound type of buses, it would have had seat belts. Now, whether or not everyone was buckled up is another matter.
There was a thread at the end of September that had 'Greyhound Bush crash' in the title which probably was a real typo.
Not all typos can or should be used like hugh, series and vey to get a laugh or be the first in a thread to use.
To use it as a keyword in a crash that killed kids is very lame.
Aw, shoot! It was me. I made a typo when typing in "buscrash". I'll see if the moderator can fix it for me.
Mod: Please change BUSHCRASH to BUSCRASH. Unintentional typo!
On the right-hand side of the page is a video link about the news here. It was shown after 8:00 this morning.
Tearful prayers up...
Looks like we need your pinglist here. :o(
OMG! My two sons graduated from Chippewa Falls HS in the late '90s. We've since moved away so I doubt I'd know any of the kids. Doesn't matter. I'm still crying. Chippewa Falls is a great little town. I'd move back there in a second. This is so sad.
We know you're proud of Jr. M for playing in the HS band and winning a State championship, but don't you think this a little insensitive in a thread about five kids being killed?
Very tragic for all concerned.
People should know that seat belts can save lives. If this bus had belts that were not in use, lives were lost for that reason. If this bus did not have belts, lives were lost for that reason. Belts won't save every life, but they will save many. They keep people in their seats and prevent them from flying around in a metal container with lots of hard edges and surfaces.
Busses need belts. That means charter busses, school busses and any other type. That some charter busses have them speaks volumes--it is known that they improve safety, and companies don't want the liability of not having them. That most school busses don't is pure ignorance and false economy.
No.
I'll pray for you.
