None of those people are perfect but they've all got a hell of a lot longer record of opinion than, say, Harriet Miers, and they are all solidly in the conservative camp.

Yeah, that's right, just right off the whole conservative base. Who needs 'em right? They're all a bunch of attention-seeking, crybabies. All they did was serve as some of the spokespersons and leaders and served as front people of a revolution that brought us a GOP Congress and a GOP White House.

And besides, they don't speak for ANYONE. All their audiences/readers/followers HATE THEM and LOVE BUSH.

This nominee is showing the split within the conservative movement

Neocon conservatives dislike her because she lacks the pedigree and her ideologue is religiously based.

Religious right conservatives like her or are not worried about her because she is a Evangelical Christian and her ideologue is morally based

Oh give it a rest...those people speak for a sizable chunk of conservatives (and yeah--we get it--they don't speak for you).

Just wondering, who do you thinks speaks for the conservatives these days?

Interestingly, even your comments on Couter against Roberts makes HER point. She was concerned that Roberts, though intellectually a no brainer, might turn a litle bit left al la Brennan, Stevens, Warren, kennedy, O'conner, Souter et.al.

In Meirs case there is certainly no evidence of even her slightist constitutional curiosity, let alone any body of writings, opinions, ideas on the serious constitutional issues facing us today. Im sad to say that as a Doctor and constitutional "hobbiest" Im likely more qualified than she to be on our previously great court.
