JERUSALEM - A Nazi war criminal known as "Dr. Death" for sadistic experiments that killed hundreds of prisoners during World War II has been tracked down to Spain, an Israeli newspaper's Web site said Saturday. Spanish police said they had not yet found the man.
The German weekly Der Spiegel said Spanish investigators believe the 91-year-old suspect, Aribert Heim, has been in Spain recently.
Police said they had not found Heim during searches after receiving indications that he was living in the northeastern province of Girona.

During the war, Heim earned the nickname of "Dr. Death" for experimenting on inmates at the Buchanwald and Mauthausen camps. The research included performing surgery without anesthesia and injecting prisoners with gasoline, poison and lethal drugs to see how much their bodies could take before dying, Haaretz said.

I just heard a local newscast that said that this "Dr. Death" was actually arrested. That report may have been in error.

There was a female Dr. Death in Iraq whose specialty was biological warfare.
We will never forget.
Unfortunately, there are several "Dr. Deaths" - - Kevorkian, etc. - - but this guy is probably the original.
Actually, wasn't Mengele also referred to as "Dr. Death"?

This guy was reportedly 91. So that would put him at about 28 in 1942.
It wouldn't surprise me if there are still quite a few genuine Nazis around who are in their '80s and '90s. Even some people who knew Hitler.
I worked with a woman years ago who was a school girl in Austria when she met Hitler. He used to visit the schools and hand out signed copies of Mein Kampf to the kids. My friend still has hers.

This Nazi was only 29 years old when Hitler took over in 1933. He wasn't the "brains" behind anything.
He was only 41 years old when the war ended.
He was, without doubt, a numbah one executioner and follower of orders.
Those that gave the orders and were the brains behind the extermination of so many innocent people are long dead.
What is left are people like this monster.
The war WILL be over and room temperture will be assumed when all of them, brains AND followers of orders, are gone.

He was born in 1914, so he would have been only 19 years old when Hitler took over in 1933 and only 31 years old when the war ended. That DID make him a rather young, though still cupbable, Nazi throughout the war.
