The 4th district includes Norman, parts of the suburban Oklahoma City area, and lots of rural territory in the south central part of the state. Norman and some of the OKC suburbs are the most populous areas in the 4th district.

Tom Cole is a RINO in my opinion. It was his consulting firm that was involved in our most recent Republican Gubernatorial candidate, Steve Largent, getting his clock cleaned by an unknown and unqualified Democrat. IMO, Tom Cole was the choice of the Republican establishment in the state rather than more conservative/constitutionalist candidates. A well-kept secret about the Oklahoma Republian party is that there are really two Republican parties, the Blue-Bloods and the "Religious Right", and they don't necessarily play well together.

Cole is now showing his true colors - he's beholden to the Frank Keating branch of the party, which has "interests" to protect in the case of this terrorist attack. The other branch, commonly associated with Tom Coburn, Steve Largent, and Ernest Istook, has yet to find its voice in this matter.

Don't believe this isn't a serious situation. Push has some to shove and Tom Cole is helping the blue-blood establishment cover for sissy-boy Democrat David Boren, who has common interests with them and dares not defy his muslime owners...

Inquiring minds want to know why... What do they know that we (folks outside Oklahoma anyway) don't know...

Thanks for the details. IMO, Cole's explanation has cover up written all over it.

BTW, which Republican party was J.C. Watts a member of? Just curious since I have always liked J.C.

Well stated my friend! If OK GOP had spent 1/10th of their time on the Largent race, he would have won, but that wasn't the case in 2002!

I think it is conservative against the establishment. If you notice all the conservatives are in the grassroots and the establishment here HATES the grassroots especially since we got Dr. Tom elected and defeated their establishment candidate. Never enjoyed working in a campaign so much in my life as I did Dr. Tom's.
