Everything in Texas either bites, stings, itches, hurts or smells bad. Other than that it's a pretty good place.

Would you believe 20000+ people now? When we moved here in 2000 it was around 11000.

Wrong-O. We fly the Lone Star at the same height as the Stars and Stripes. It was written into the agreement that made the Republic of Texas a US state.

I was in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo a few years ago and Bodacious was literally the talk of the town!

Houston let the weasel live and sent him back to Mexico.

According to legend, Santa Anna gave fellow Mason Sam Houston the Masonic handshake indicating distress. Since part of Masonic code is to forgive a fellow Mason in distress, Houston let Santa Anna go.

BTW: Santa Anna is the second most hated man in Mexican history, after General Huerta.

Also, as a school girl growing up in Texas, we studied Texas History from the 1st grade through the 7th grade.

Yeah, me too. I caught hell from Mrs. Dodd the Texas History teacher when I drew a picture of the Alamo flag and put "1836" on it!

(should have been 1824)

Don't know how if or when anybody completed a ride but a few years ago the $100 nightly prize money for staying on was over $30000.

Really? Have you ever been to the Hill Country or West Texas? Judging the place from Houston or Dallas is like Judging California by Smell-A.

This is getting horrible! The Alamo fell in 1836.

Great memories of sleeping on the banks of the Frio River.

Good place to get away from the engine room of the Titanic (Houston).

Bodacious died of a cholic a couple of years ago, but he was absolutely the toughest bull to come along in 30 years.

He had a high kick, then, in the jump, he would sling his head back. He broke three jaws, and almost rearranged Tuff Hedeman's face when he slammed him at the National Finals in 1997. Sammy Andrews, his owner, retired him two days later, afraid that he might actually kill somebody.
