John Gilbert Graham also died in 11 minutes. The door to the gas chamber at the Colorado State Penitentiary was sealed at 7:57 p.m. Jan. 11, 1957. His heart stopped beating at 8:08 p.m.

And he didn't die sedated laying on a table getting drugs. Capital punishment needs to be associated with words like electrodes, chamber, gallows and noose, not sedation, drugs and needle..

Dead is dead, I'll settle for that (in a timely fashion please).

GtG

What happened in Colorado that day was a tragedy. To think, you could actually take out insurance from a vending machine at Stapleton. At least this a-shole got the chair.

On another note, they still have yet to locate this skyjacker, although I suspect that he is a freeper:

His body is probably buried in a sandbank in the Columbia River somewhere.

They found a good deal of the money on the bank of the river, and none of the other money has ever been negotiated. He probably did not survive the bailout.

They actually found the suitcase with some of the money in the sludge pit that is the Green River. If he is alive, ol' DB is probably retired in Canada.

I thought it was the Green River, but I could be wrong.

It was somewhere near Vancouver, IIRC. I was just working from memory, because I remember thinking at the time that the Columbia currents and shifting sandbars would bury just about anything forever. Although of course it might surface unexpectedly after 50 years or so . . .

DB wasn't as smart as he thought he was, was he?

I agree with most that he is at the bottom of the river, buried under decades of mud.
