LOL. Ooops. And thanks for the information on the "scripted" video conference. If I was going to be in national tv with the President, I would hope and pray that someone would give me a heads up on some questions so I wouldn't sound like a compete idiot and a few tips on conducting a televised dialogue. They are making even greater fools of themselves with this nonsense.
And what is worse is that the administration allowed the news to cover the preparation, to PROVE that they weren't scripting what people said -- and the media has USED that access to put together misleading reports to give the suggestion that the administration was afraid of what they would say and was telling them what to say.
Very good point.
I caught some of Glen Beck's show this morning and he was discussing this issue. He indicated that the "coaching" was along the lines of, "ok, Sergeant Kennedy, after you answer this question, you are going to pass the mike to Sergeant so and so." He portrayed the staging more as an issue of mechanics than substance. Seems like another ridiculous MSM fed controversy to me, like the "fake turkey" story.
That's the way I look at it too. The last thing I'd want to do, as a soldier, is embarrass the president, whether I like him and his policies or not.
That said, we turned off this 'conference' when it came on, because it seemed like a fairly corny set up. I don't like corny setups. I love this president, support the war, and our troops, but this was hokey.
