And who will look foolish if she gets in there and votes like Souter? We'll be stuck with her for decades while everyone forgets who was foolish when it counted, when it's too late to matter any longer.

but damnit, GWB said to trust him and we did, so that's the most important thing!

I guess they don't get it. This job is for life. All you can do once a judge is confirmed and they screw up is say "oops, sorry,my bad!"

That's not acceptable.

"What ifs" are useless.

Again what is it about Miers getting her day before the judicial committee that bothers you people so much?

What is it you are scared of?

Mind you even I still haven't made up my mind on Miers. I haven't a clue as to if I would support her or not. Right now I have read enough about her to think she may be what we are looking for. President Bush believes in her, why shouldn't I at least give the man his due and allow his nominee to be heard in committee.

All the opposition seems to be pushed by a few pundits who believe themselves important enough to control who the President nominates and who he does not.

Just what office is it these people got elected to and when was the vote? I seem to have missed it.

You should not ASSUME the President is wrong.

"We'll be stuck with her for decades..."

It could be decades, I suppose, since they serve for life. But she is already 60, so it might be only a decade and a half.

However, should she go wobbly, she'll become a darling of the media which will probably ensure she'll stay on well into dotage.

The woman cannot write a coherent sentance, of the wee bit of writing I've seen from her, it is all goboly-gook non-speak. That really bothers me.

Bush had the bases loaded after Roberts, and he's trying to bunt in a run. He should have hit a homer, but he didn't.

Very annoying.
