A vocal minority of scientists say the warming climate is the result of a natural cycle.
Wasn't it a vocal minority of scientists who said that the earth is in fact round???
Yet again, another sensationalist article, which fails to say for certain that human activity fuels global warming. I guess this is God's way of getting back at us for not signing Kyoto...

New international climate data show that 2005 is on track to be the hottest year on record,I'll believe when Greenland becomes green again.

Isn't that a good thing? Didn't I read about the hight cost of heating bills this winter? Won't need to run the furnace if the planet is nice and toasty.

So does this mean it will only drop to -29.9 this winter and not -30?

Climatologists at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies calculated the record-breaking global average temperature, which now surpasses 1998's record by a tenth of a degree Fahrenheit, from readings taken at 7,200 weather stations scattered around the world.Wow, 1/10th of 1 degree as a global average. What ever are we going to do?!?!

In my lifetime we have faced global famine, an ice age, now we are all going to fry. I'm not that old either. The key word is record. Keep records for 100 years and that negates 10,000++++ years not recorded. PETA and Enviros are looney tuners.

We sure haven't felt it in Northern California / Bay Area. It was a cool summer with only two short heat spells into the 90s. I don't think we went into the 100s once. Sept. & Oct. are normally very warm, but so far we've had balmy weather.

. . . from readings taken at 7,200 weather stations scattered around the world.
THIS is the problem, they are using local weather stations recording temperatures that are the result of a solar cycle. This is why the Chicken Little crowd is going off their nut - the data is inaccurate and is being hysterically reported by the Algore contingent of the "news" media.

Does anyone really believe that global temperature can be accurately determined to within 1/2 of a degree?

Root for global warming. My mother-in-law lives in a low-lying part of Florida, and I'd love to see her slowly sink beneath the waves.
(Nah. Who am I kidding? Even the crabs would throw her back.)

Just have a desired result and use the data required to show it through selective usage.

It's actually starting to cool off down here in Georgia. I was in Virginia earlier in the week and it was noticeably cooler than just 6 weeks ago. I'm heading to Austria in a week or so and I'll let you know what I find. I haven't been there for a good six months.
