That's what it is so far. I think the kid's a schitz. Given his warped mind, his fascination with death may have been his connection to jihadis and booms. I'm sure the feds ain't going to let any jihadis go free. I'm also sure the feds aren't going to post their findings.
The facts reported so far, IMHO don't add up to a "lone suicide". To believe that story you have to ignore a _mountain_ of evidence to the contrary (evidence reported by many more people than just "questionable" websites and through numerous "official but anonymous" sources).
I certainly hope the FBI won't let any jihadis go free, but if they aren't even looking in that direction how can we be sure they won't?
I agree that the FBI might not show it's hand in this if there is an ongoing investigation (meaning a wider plot), but why wouldn't they release the file if it would prove it was a lone suicide?
I'll personally stick to asking questions, and analyzing what's been reported so far, and remain skeptic regarding anyone who knows "FOR SURE" one way or another until all the evidence is presented... if that day ever comes. And yes, even then I may still have my doubts.

Spunkets, dear heart, you have a lot to learn. I suggest you read Jayna Davis' book, "The Third Terrorist." Not only did the feds let a jihadist go free, one jihadist from the OKC bombing turned up at Logan Airport on 9/11/01. They very nearly let the "Shoe Bomber" go free because it was easier to say he was "harmless." They knew about jihadist cells in several cities around the US before 9/11/01 (including in OKC!!) and let them, well, go free.
Read and learn.
(But let someone have a gun sawed off by just an inch or so, and they'll descend like a plague of locusts, shoot your dog, your wife, and possibly your baby too...)
