Given George Bushs other judicial nominations have been pretty good (conservative), why do some people think Harriet Miers isn't?
Because the others had a paper trail. Meiers doesn't. "Trust me" doesn't cut it.

Because Alberto Gonzales had picked all of them as Bush's Legal Counsel.
Once he went up to AG and Miers took over, there was a serious brain drain, resulting in nothing but old, stalled nominees getting renominated. Following that, her office hit rock bottom when it was so scrapped for new ideas that it nominated Miers herself.

I think you're missing my point. Given George Bushs other appointments, nominees, and assuming they are pretty conservative (which I do), why do you think this one isn't? From what I've read everyone who knows her says she'll be a good Justice. Granted she didn't pratice con-law, but a lot of this stuff ain't rocket science.
No flame intended.
