Um, no, it's not because we're tapped out. I would humbly suggest that the people and the area in question want to kill us all and turn the clock back to the stone age. Perhaps THAT has something to do with the lack of donations from the US.

Perhaps the Saudis would like to donate a few days worth of oil to their brothers in Pakistan. That would take care of most everything.

I really think that all of the lies and murder emanating from the affected area pretty much explains this whole phenomenon.

The U.S. gave enormous amounts of help and money after the Tsunami, only to have several of the countries involved kick us out as quickly as possible, because we offended their delicate Muslim sensibilities.

When Katrina hit, the reaction from most foreign countries was that it was Bush's fault, or maybe God punishing us for being Americans. To be fair, you can't entirely blame them, because it was the U. S. Media who spread the word around the world that it was Bush's fault.

At this point, most people probably are thinking that charity begins at home, and we have enough problems to clean up right here.
