The massive earthquake that killed an estimated 30,000 people in South Asia has kindled an outpouring of cash from Muslim communities here and elsewhere but has elicited a far more feeble response from many other donors, aid groups say.
After donating about $1.3 billion to help the victims of the devastating Southeast Asia tsunami and then contributing $1.7 billion to support relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, many donors appear to be running out of steam.

Perhaps the Saudis would like to donate a few days worth of oil to their brothers in Pakistan. That would take care of most everything.
Exactly. The aid money sent by islamic countries during the tsunami was pathetic.
Personally, I'm holding back because of the "Katrina was Allah" remarks and the dancing in the street post 9-11.

Perhaps we Americans are FINALLY getting tired of seeing these so called Muslim brothers of ours dragging our dead soldiers through the streets, having our flag burnt, and watching them dancing in the streets every time something horrible happens to our country. The only donation I could possibly see as being proper for us to send to these poor stricken people would possibly be a container ship full of bacon, pigs blood, and maybe even a nice pile of steaming camel dung.
Yeah, I didn't realize until today that the Arabs in the streets of Yemen celebrated for two days straight after the bombing of the Cole. These must be some very sad people if the only thing they can celebrate in their lives is the misery of others. I may not donate, but at least I won't be dancing in the streets, either.
I really think that all of the lies and murder emanating from the affected area pretty much explains this whole phenomenon.
The U.S. gave enormous amounts of help and money after the Tsunami, only to have several of the countries involved kick us out as quickly as possible, because we offended their delicate Muslim sensibilities.
When Katrina hit, the reaction from most foreign countries was that it was Bush's fault, or maybe God punishing us for being Americans. To be fair, you can't entirely blame them, because it was the U. S. Media who spread the word around the world that it was Bush's fault.
At this point, most people probably are thinking that charity begins at home, and we have enough problems to clean up right here.
