Clement was supposedly the second choice after John Roberts.

Probably a good bet, but you should never bet anything you are not willing to lose. I doubt choice #2 will be an improvement.

I could pretty much guarantee you a Democrat Senate in '06 if that were to happen. But what the hell? The Republocrats were'nt using it anyway.
