If the White House spin is that Harriet Miers got the job because nobody else wanted it ... That over-states things by quite a bit. The anti-Miers folks are over-the-top. Again.

No, then what was Dobson trying to foist onto his overly credulous listeners the other day?
Isn't his main point that Miers wasn't the best choice, but rather, the only option available to President Bush?

Oh, thats right...Meiers was the "most qualified." Obviously more so than Priscilla Owen, who has only been a judge for YEARS!

(I am conservative. That is NOT the same thing as Republican. Don't place party over principle.)

Hey buddy, I didn't care then what they said, and I don't care now. If someone wants to apologize, fine. I wont stay up nights waiting for it. And just to clear up the current dispute: THE SHORT LIST WAS 5 WOMEN, 3 declined, 1 was disqualified on her history, and Miers was left holding the trophy.
Ya think anyone will believe me now? I wont hold my breath.

That rumor has as much credible independent evidence as the one at the top of this thread. But neither side has a monopoly on "over the top."

"I heard from a friend of a friend of Priscilla Owen" is a more appropriate start to an urban legend than a news story.

(Harriet Miers has the kind of legal career that Ann Coulter can only dream of.)

The facts are this administration has been caught LYING to get this nominee appointed. This from a President who wants us to trust him that Miers is an originalist and won't become liberal on the Supreme Court.
This nomination is a joke and Bush is losing credibility each day he continues on with this disaster.
