Rumors in Pakistan held Kashmir points towards some massive losses for Al-Queda is Pakistan held Kashmir. Some international think tanks believe Osama Bin Laden hiding in the safe sanctuary of Pakistan held Kasmir may be killed by the massive quake.
However, no evidence suggests that the deadly earthquake that rocked Pakistan injured or killed the world's top terror leader, Osama bin Laden.
The quake shook the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where bin Laden is believed to be hiding. However, authorities at this point have no information indicating he's been injured or killed, said a US official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the information's sensitivity.
US hopes for bin Laden's death or capture were high in December 2001, when US and afghan troops surrounded a cave complex sheltering al-Qaeda members in Afghanistan抯 Tora Bora region. But bin laden escaped and is now believed to be living a relatively isolated existence to evade capture.
A great opportunity to spread the rumor that the beheadings, butcherings and terrorism are a punishment from Allah.

sure. the press had this guy killed off more times than Freddy Kruger!
Michael Savage made a great point a couple of nights ago. When Katrina hit they were quick to say it was Allah's justice and punishment for the US being in Iraq. But gee doesn't that logic work both ways about this quake hitting mostly Muslims??
Wasn't it just one guy in Kuwait that said that?
Dead again?
A recent letter from the Pakistan Daily Times:

For the people
Sir:
The Bush administrations poor response to the catastrophe in New Orleans has exposed the nature of the corporate capitalist elites who run the United States today. With over 10,000 people now feared dead and hundreds of thousands displaced and lacking access to food, water and sanitation, the tragedy has shown the world the low priority assigned to peoples welfare in the worlds richest country. The country, which takes pride in its achievements in space, its high-tech weaponry and its ability to pulverise nations and peoples of the world, managed no better than a Third World response, first to the warning and then to actual disaster. It has been forced finally to swallow its pride and ask the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation for emergency assistance requesting blankets, first aid kits, water trucks and food for the victims of the hurricane. Through its wars and aggressive sanctions, US has long brought death and destruction to other nations Iraq and Afghanistan are but recent examples of this. Hurricane Katrina has shown that innocent people even in America are not safe from the injustices and oppression of global capitalism.

If this man is still alive, then the irony may be evident to him. Then again, maybe not. They see what they are brainwashed to see. I watched on the BBC last night as relief trucks tried to get through. One British national of Muslim Pakistani descent was there having organized getting a lot of supplies in. Half of it had been stolen in the city before it got out to people. He appeared to be a very decent man and he was really struggling with what he was witnessing.
oooh. If true, can we chant, "God is great" hours on end and ululate?
I feel for the innocents of this. The women and children are going to suffer the most over there as usual. But I can't help hoping that this put a real dent in the terrorist network. It's be nice to know that all their secret tunnels and underground shelters didn't fare so well.
"oooh. If true, can we chant, "God is great" hours on end and ululate?"
If it turns out that it isn't true, will it make OBL the Teflon Turban?
More likely the Islamofascists will say it's Allah's judgment on Pakistan for being friendly with the U.S.
Maybe, but I had the impression that most of the damage is in Waziristan (sic? I prefer "Wazooland"), where Ossama's supposed power base resides. If that's the case, then maybe an Information Operation could be executed to convince those folks that Allah has indeed punished them for supporting "apostates."
Unfortunately, the PC factor at the agency level will probably preclude any such imaginative work.
They can try to spin that angle...but it wasn't Musharraf's crib that came tumblin' down.
