The beautiful and popular Jacki (Jacky) Cacho of Univision TV and beauty pageant fame has presented herself to the World as winner of Miss Peru International, 1994 ever since she arrived In SA. It has worked well to get her into the limelight and garner national attention.
She is a stunning beauty, and a must-have at many beauty pageants in SA and around the state. She gained entree to the Rich and Famous of San Antonio and Texas based on her sparkling personality, her beauty-queen looks, and her sharp business ability that let her parley the Miss Peru crown into a bag of gold.
The Miss Peru title was the spark that lit her bonfire of the vanities.
Just one problem.
She never actually won the Miss Peru International competition.
Not in 1994. Not ever.
In fact, she has never even won a beauty pageant.

Just a month-and-half ago, she was prominently featured at the Miss Texas Latina pageant in Del Rio.
The San Antonio Media Alliance printed this:

“I could not be more proud of the women who have earned the title of Miss Texas Latina US 2006,” said former Miss Peru Jackeline Cacho, president of the non-profit Latina Crown USA, which organized the event. “They represent the best in Latina pride, and will undoubtedly serve as leaders for the next generation of women.” (Emphasis added.)

Miss Cacho was interviewed by Del Rio writer Jay Johnson following that event. At first Jacki bravely maintained that she was, indeed, Miss Peru International, but when asked to show proof that she won the pageant, she admitted that she had not.
Johnson quotes her as saying "I've never won a pageant."

We found no record of Jacki's win.

Nationally she can be viewed every Thursday on the investigative report "Aquí y Ahora" and she is a weekend anchor at the local Univision outlet.
She is no stranger to the media, or local politicans.
In March of 2004 she was rumored to be having a fling with ex-mayor Henry Cisneros; a rumor she denied. Click for related story.
She has many friends in politics, and is always available for a photo opportunity. Meanwhile, Unvision has quietly dropped their mention of "Miss Peru" in her official biography on its website.
Miss Cacho was unavailable for comment.
