Well, they're awash in dollars, and dollars eventually find their way back home. Always. That's just the way it works, which escapes many so-called economists who fret excessively over the balance of trade. We trade pieces of paper for things of value. In this instance, the thing of value is oil. From a Saudi, or Arab or Persian, point of view, buying influence would be a logical use for some portion of what has to be an absolute mountain of US currency.
And Petroleum Engineers use explosives in the course of their work.
