It sounds as though President Bush is surrounded by women who advocate for affirmative action (Condi and, of course, Harriet Miers).
As someone wrote the other day, when people can't argue against your position they often resort to name-calling. It's unfortunate that Laura Bush has chosen to diminish her stature by mischaracterizing legitimate opposition to this embarrassing nomination by delegitimizing Miers' opponents.
I suppose that Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter, to name three high-profile opponents of the Miers nomination, are just sexist pigs.
Is this really the best way for President Bush to spend his political capital?
I'm thinking maybe Ann Coulter is more qualified to be a Supreme Court Judge than is Ms. Miers.
Guess so. Splitting the base so the Dems can take over in 2006 sure does make him a "uniter" I suppose.
And is Laura Bush "pro-choice" as well? And where did Mama Barbara Bush stand on abortion?
>>>"It's unfortunate that Laura Bush has chosen to diminish her stature by mischaracterizing legitimate opposition to this embarrassing nomination by delegitimizing Miers' opponents."
I agree. This was obviously a main stream media setup, and Laura should have been smart enough to pass on this no-win question. But she took it to help her husband. It was a unfortunate and stupid move on her part because it was so blatantly wrong.
All the critics are calling Miers unqualified because there were other females with much better qualifications (knew constitutional law, etc.).
