Kinda sounds like the Dems when they charge Republicans hate children when they oppose federally funded school lunches...or want to kill Seniors when they oppose new entilements.
Yawn at this lazy charge.

"Laura Bush says sexism possible in Miers criticism"
Hey, folks! Before we all drink the Kool-Aid being prepared by the liberals, let's understand what was actually said here. I think is some cases, it could very well be that sexism is a reason for criticizing Harriet Miers' nomination.
On the other hand, maybe some of us just want some information first, before we decide whether we support her or not.

Laaura might just have well said, "Its a vast right wing Conservative agenda"...

This charge is silly. And I say that as someone who has been arguing on the side of Miers for days now. The fact is, most of Miers' conservative critics would love to see Priscilla Owen.
C'mon, Laura. Get with the program.

I can't believe the WH is treating conservatives who have real and legitimate questions concerning his nominee in this manner. I worked hard for this President in two elections, and now they are slinging mud at anyone who questions them from the right. How depressing!

Sexism, what a pants load. Conservatives wanted the choice to be from A-list judges -- Sam Alito, Janice Rogers Brown, Priscilla Owen, Michael Luttig, and Michael McConnell, to name a few.
That list has almost 50% women and all have better credentials than Ms Miers.

Then I suppose racism is possible in Bush's failure to nominate Janice Rogers Brown?

Neither of the Bushes are conservatives. Laura's a lib and George is a compassionate one, which means he's a lib. Liberal logic just tags them for what they are.
They'd use Rev. Al and Jesse to attack us if Miers were black, I guess.

I watched the interview of President Bush and Laura by Matt Lauer (sp)?
What caught my ear more than anything was hearing Matt refer to President Bush as "Mr. Clinton" as he led in to the segment about Meirs. The liberals still can't seem to address the President correctly, even when they make a faux pas and call the President "Mr." Clinton. lol

I think time in Washington is getting to George and Laura. Please note that Laura responded to a question and did not level the charge outright.
Part of the problem is that George is trying to be the good guy. He needs to go to the mattresses. Nominate a strict constructionist, cut back on spending and protect the borders.

Wow.
I certainly wouldn't have expected the First Lady to resort to leftist tactics such as these. How disappointing.

I'm generally one of the last to cry "sexism," but I think it's true in this case. And this is NOT because Miers is a woman, but because of how she LOOKS, i.e., kind of domestic and grandmotherly, like someone who would bake cookies and take care of the grandchildren while the parents see a movie. In other words, she projects the IMAGE of a traditional, domestic, non-professional woman, and people are reacting to that image.

Most of us supported Janice Rogers Brown. We're sexist alright. /sexism
