More Bodies Discovered Along Texas-Mexico Border
KWTX News ^ | October 10, 2005 | n/a

Authorities say four bullet-ridden bodies have been discovered at a ranch 30 miles southeast of the northern Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo.

Meanwhile, four more shooting deaths in two attacks also were reported over the weekend in Nuevo Laredo, across the U.S. border from Laredo.

The four bodies found at a ranch in the rural town of Anahuac included a 13-year-old boy.

Jorge Cantu, a spokesman for the Nuevo Leon state attorney general's office, says the victims had been dead about 36 hours before police found them Sunday.

Cantu says prosecutors were investigating whether killings were related to smuggling after finding soldering and tire-repair equipment on the premises.

Smugglers are known to use tires to sneak drugs across the U.S. border.

A continuous 24ft high reinforced concrete linear border structure topped with razor wire would significantly reduce tire smugglings.

My job took me to El Paso for a week in September. It's the first time I've been on the Mexican border.

At least 90% of the Hilton Hotel staff spoke English as a second language (to be fair, their English was excellent and so was the service). At least 75% of the radio station programs were in Spanish. And three of the nine U.S. military personnel I was there to teach spoke English as a second language, too.

Maybe it's always been that way along the border, but it was a little unnerving.

A distinct possibility. Breaking the law does have its disadvantages.

What else could it be? All those people do is smuggle, whether it's drugs or humans. The silver lining to this is that there are now a few less people who can ever cross over the border into the US, and that's good news for us. LOL < /bad girl > :o)

What type of tires were they? Michelins? If so, could be a flare up of that Mexican-French thing.

parsy, who thinks outside the box.

As heartless as it sounds, I agree with you. I consider my quality of life as being more important than theirs. Let 'em clean up their own country if they want a decent place to live.

From the Laredo Morning Times/AP:

Police found 27 spent cartridges at the site of the shootings. No arrests had been made in connection with the deaths.

Meanwhile, four killings in Nuevo Laredo were reported over the weekend.

In Nuevo Laredo on Saturday, two men, ages 27 and 45, were shot to death on the front porch of a home on the city's east side, according to Jose Wenceslao, commander of the Tamaulipas state police.

On Friday night, two men were shot to death in Nuevo Laredo outside a store in the city center. No arrests were reported.

More than 140 killings have been reported in Nuevo Laredo in 2005 during a surge in violence attributed to rival drug trafficking groups.

Any idea what type of cartridges they were? Also what is the standard issue weapon for the Mexican army and police? Could there be a connection.....? I've heard of corrupt military and police before.

You said it right, sis... Most of us are SICK of illegal aliens bringing their mess to our country. If they're so wonderful (according to the open borders bunch), then why is their country such a failure?
