Most likely a student prank....

Of the 3 devices one went off when a janitor picked up the trash bag they were in.....

The only damage to him was ringing in his ears....

If these were weapons grade explosives, packed with shrapnel he would have been shredded....

Stupid college prank gone wrong...

IMHO, these events are not pranks. Since there have been quite a few of these things lately, I wonder if some terrorist group is "testing the water" to find a vulnerable spot. They are watching to see what all the law enforcement agencies are doing about them, and if they are able to find the person or persons responsible for laying these things about.

This is a copycat. The terrorists know exactly where our vulnerabilities lie. Getting an attack to fruition requires much planning and secrecy. If there was an attack planned in New York this weekend, it was likely disrupted by the warnings issued by DHS. This would likely force the perpetrators back underground for several months until they could re-establish some level of certainty that the heat is off.

I think this is just anarchist hijinks.

More Pali flags per square mile on college campuses than anywhere else in the land. Pretty dumb for the Islamonazis to bomb them! ...

I'm willing to bet it's a prank. Good grief, at my alma mater guys blew up stuff all the time with C4 and grenade simulators. Ahh the good old days. God bless VMI.

The explosives were made up of chemicals placed inside plastic bottles and could have seriously injured someone, officials said.

Liquid draino and aluminum foil in a plastic bottle. The kids around here make them all the time.

When he picked up the bag, one exploded, as it was designed to do when handled

Here is where things get serious. They rigged it where the draino and aluminum would not come in contact until someone moved it, thus creating a booby trap. Very illegal and fairly dangerous as the draino can get on your skin and in your eyes.
