Explosive devices found on the GA Tech campus.
Wonder what was in the bottles ? The OU guy had lots of plastic bottles in his car... Probably just a prank but who knows these days.
Well the Farncour Franks might have been from GA Tech.
Okay.....I'm convinced my mom used every single recipe at the links you provided. I think she still has those books. And, I must confess, that when I went to college I inherited my mom's orange crockpot and the cookbook that went with it. All the dishes in that cookbook were photographed in black and white and the ones that weren't actually look much like some photos at that link.
I need to send him a recipe that is in a church cookbook my mom bought in the '70s (it's funny to see what people considered "Mexican" food back then) for a dish called "Bass Con Queso".
I had no one to teach me - had to learn on my own - lots of things that should have been in the garbage but my Marine ate it anyway - what a guy.
The mere sight of all that Hearty Christianity compels me to go hide in the nearest bar....
When I was growing up the two Presbyterian churches were remnants of the churches that split apart during the Civil War. My church was part of the Southern church, and was practically Baptist. The two national organizations reunited some time back (in the '70s, I believe), then split apart again into Conservative and Liberal (more or less). The PCA and PCUSA are the result of the second split, if I remember correctly.
I worked at Merck for awhile and my boss was this incredible young man - his Father worked in the WTC and was there during the 1993 bombing.
Of course he went through what everyone experienced waiting to locate his Father, fearing the worst.
Sometime later, he was driving and the radio announced the name of the suspect in the bombing - it was a guy my boss had studied with many times while in college!
The FBI actually interviewed him because his name was found in the suspects things.
Ha! That sounds like my mom.
She did well with what she knew though. Had an aunt who could cook from scratch(cakes were her specialty)... but she didn't have a passion for cooking. It was ALWAYS a pleasure to have dinner at her house!
I remember wondering why these "cabbages" were so small.............
Scary stuff, look at the wild look in their eyes. Dangerous, no doubt.
Yes you are correct - I think the split was late 60's but close enough.
Don't forget the Amish--I am going to make a shoofly pie this afternoon!
You must be referring to that chemical engineer that made the bomb, whose house they found full of explosives-manufacturing chemicals, yes?
Food in the dorm was so bad you HAD to eat the veggies..... I remember my first taste of broc/rice/cheese casserole........ liked the rice and cheese, the bits of green stuff were a bit weird but ok...... eventually I realized the pattern: broccoli served, next night broccoli with cheese, next night the remainder was mixed with rice........lol By the end of the semester I could eat raw broccoli..........
The one in the back...with the striped shirt....PROFILED!

'Al-Queda can recruit on college campuses but the US military can't!" -
HOW TRUE!
PING
Probably - couldn't name him just offhand...... but my boss was really upset that someone he had spent time with could have done something so horrible -
Do Marines have cast-iron stomachs? My hubby was in the Army, I know he did. lolol
