I will give a pass on viruses, some are good most are bad. However, when man has introduced a species into an environment they are not indiginous to for the purpose of controlling another species it doesn't have the desired affects after the targeted species is controlled. The introduced species then becomes a problem and the whole process starts again until one day we are the targeted species.
Controlling the wolf comes to mind. Eradicate wolf. Other species it preyed on populations explode. These species suffer overpopulation and competition for food. We re-intro the wolf and now it is eating not only deer/elk/others it is eating cattle and sheep as the wolf is flourishing. Now we talk again about controlling its population.
When man does not learn from history he is doomed to repeat it.
Man should stick to what he knows and trying to fool Mother Nature isn't one of them.

Introducing a new species is worrisome, even for a technophile like me, but they are not introducing a new species, but merely sterilized mosquitoes of the same species that is already there. Playing God? That's like saying you play God when you reach for the fly swatter..

Don't you think that being STERILE will hurt the long time viability of the GM males? I think the glowing balls is a secondary issue.
This is a one shot deal. They grow them in labs, they release them and then release more as necessary. The whole point is that they don't breed in the wild and introduce some other trait or upset the enviroment any more than we want it to.
Anything that gets released into the wild has to be self-limiting, not self-perpetuating.

They do not know what affect the process will have on the species. Good or bad they have a purpose ( I don't know what I hate them ) or God would not have made them. They also have no clue as to what happens in 2,20,50... years. They is always some other species in place to take the place of one that went away. We may not like the replacement.

Not going to happen.
The result would be more dark skinned people.
Liberals HATE dark skinnned people (See Great Society, Lyndon Johnson if you don't believe it), and will stop at nothing to prevent this from happening.
Since they are still in the drivers seat on this kind of stuff, it's going to remain a pipe dream.

Next time just step on it and hire someone younger, faster and more courageous for $20 to retrieve it for you. The trick is to keep your hand on his collar the whole time.

Re-populationg wolves was the stupidest thing the enviro-nutballs ever sold to the general population!
They control nothing that Human Hunters won't control, and as a bonus, Hunters pay millions of $$ a year to do it!
Kill every freaking one of them, and make hats and coats out of them. Coyotes and mountain lions belong in that group also.

I'm surprised no one has posted a picture of a glow in the dark condom package! If I knew of a host server that has stock pictures on it that I could link to, I would have.

Glowing balls have GOT to hurt the long-term viability of the GM species. Keep in mind they are not trying to get this species to survive, that would defeat the purpose. The point is to send out sterile males to breed to cut down on a local population
