NEW ORLEANS -- Louisiana federal authorities are prosecuting seven more people for post-Hurricane Katrina crimes -- including a Baton Rouge woman who allegedly used the address of her mother's old boyfriend to get government assistance. During a news conference Saturday in front of the federal courthouse, U.S. Attorney David Dugas of Baton Rouge and U.S. Attorney Jim Letten of New Orleans detailed six grand-jury indictments and another fraud arrest -- all of them linked to the storm that made landfall in Louisiana on Aug. 29.

In Baton Rouge, Ruby D. Lollis, 36, of 8770 Elmgrove Garden Drive, Apt. 210, was arrested late last week for fraudulently obtaining a $2,000 disaster-relief check. She faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Anytime there is a Federal dollar floating around there will be ten people chasing after it.

This is going to be going on for years. We're going to be in the half trillion mode by the time this goes away. But, the left will say it didn't cost us a dime. "The Government Paid For It All." /barf

Can we go ahead and charge Nagin and Blanco now to speed up the process?

Let me guess. They are all white, rich businessmen. Or soon will be!

I was thinking that too. They should not get away with what they did and are still doing.

Personally I think they should be charged with a minimum of manslaughter, if not premeditated murder.

Unfortunately for every one they "catch" there are likely a hundred that are never detected.

Likewise these $2,000 a pop scam artists are a mere drop in the bucket as compared to the multi-billion dollar taxpayer ripoff schemes that the LA political types will soon be lining their pockets with.
