See, this is the point I don't get. It's the same pitch, a couple more and we'll have the majority we need. But when they get in, they turn. they turn because they see how easy it is to play the system, get elected, then stab the President in the back.

They need an incentive to stay onboard, or else increasing the majority is futile. What is the W.H. going to do to keep them on the ranch so that doesn't happen?

Look, the ugly truth is if you want Senate discipline, then you need a head banger as President. Bush is too decent for that, and that may be his biggest flaw.

The only thing I can say, is that I think that the Republican majority is so close, with RINOs, that the troublemakers have too much power (i.e. my way or the highway). A greater majority would give them less power to be the "swing vote".
