Conservative news, yes, on a small town basis. The parents in all three cases ended up shying away from news reports though, as they felt the kids had so much to deal with, and they didn't want the family or the kids, to be harassed by the activists. Which they do do!! Mostly, kids just drop out, rather than deal with it in school, and they seldom tell their parents why. It's only through hearing them talk to their friends that those parents find out why they dropped out.
It can be very repulsive to hear about homosexuality, and when it's shoved in their faces the way it is, and the details get so graphic, I don't blame the kids. A GED is accepted in colleges now, as equivalent to a diploma, so why deal with it?
