I just bought myself a Yamaha Vino 125 and I love it. Seats two, tops out at 90 km/h and has enough trunk space for groceries or a weekend away. Best part though is the cost- $4 worth of gas to go more than 200km and $500 to insure a new driver for a full year.

Is this guy talking about the alcocycles? That's what people around here drive when they are no longer allowed to have a license.

I understand the "risk of early death" thing. On my way to work, early this week, I drove past the scene of an extrememly recent accident (about a minute prior to my arriving). It involved a large super-duty p/u truck and a Suzuki scooter. My wife is trying to get her deposit back on the scooter she was purchasing.

Ugh, what's a km/h and a km? $500 for a years worth of insurance seems pretty steep. I'd shop around. My big bike insurance got jacked up to $75 a year and I was really torqued off about that.

$500 for insurance ~ it only costs $300 @ year full coverage for a Suzuki SV650 motorcycle.

If you're going to take the risk of being on two wheels in the first place, I opt for a motorcycle that has the acceleration to get out of dangerous spots and the heavier brakes.

When Jorge Jones couldn't drive he used his ridding lawnmower to go to the liquor store.

Small mass, large mass collision, the small mass always the loser. I gave up my motorcycles because I had no control over idiotic actions of larger vehicle operators.

"I understand the risk of early death.."No protection at all on scooters or even full size bikes for that matter.Even when the accident is not fatal to the biker, the injuries are very often very serious.Injuries often result in paralysis and/or permanant/severe brain damage.
