Yes, and the kind of pond scum that takes advantage of the ignorant like this is what gives capitalism a bad name. Or are you telling me the subprime lender is blameless here?

Captialism only works when there is an underlying morality behind it, Judeo-Christian or whatever. Without it, it's the law of the jungle. As the victims accumulate, government regulation grows, innovation and creativity get stifled, and everyone loses.

It's more than ironic that this is taking place in overwhelmingly Democratic Cleveland.

Of course not ... particularly if they broke the law.

However, every con takes at least two players ... one to deceive, one who wants to believe the deception.

I would say both parties are seriously at fault. The lender should lose their business license and face criminal fraud charges, and the lendees should have to go to loan counseling. This is just unbelievable.

"Captialism only works when there is an underlying morality behind it,"

I think some in positions of authority forgot this when they evidently deleted the usury law. I've actually seen advertised interest rate of over 400% posted in loan company windows. Unreal. Of coursse I guess you could say it got the underworld out of loan sharking.

No doubt, and in this case, it was the sin of greed on the part of the hapless property buyers which enabled this scam.

If they were honest hardworking people to begin with they wouldn't have fallen prey to one of their own...
