Howlin said: "I will say this right here for all to see: if George Bush buckles to the hardliner malcontents, he will lose my support, period. I'm sick tp death of all the bashing and trashing; I'm sick of a small group of people who NEVER WANTED HIM AS THE NOMINEE IN THE FIRST PLACE, wailing and moaning about everything he does. "
So does this mean that you're now going to be a Bush-basher?
Welcome to the Disappointed With Bush Club.
See, dimbulb, you've proved what a myopic view of life you have.
Just because you don't agree with everything a person does doesn't mean you have to TRASH them.
I know that will come as big news to you.
Don't lump me in with you malcontents. I know exactly why he did what he did.
I just don't want to be associated with people who decry borking when it's done to a conservative, but love it when they're doing it to somebody else.
He lost this battle to the unappeasables, who, as I'm sure we will shortly see, will NEVER be satisfied with anybody or anything he does.
Okay. I'll lump you in with those Bush cultists.
Do you think I care what you think about me?
Desperately.
I know for a fact that you start every day off with the prayer "Please, L-rd, let Laz find favor with me today. Amen."
You said - "I will say this right here for all to see: if George Bush buckles to the hardliner malcontents, he will lose my support, period. I'm sick tp death of all the bashing and trashing; I'm sick of a small group of people who NEVER WANTED HIM AS THE NOMINEE IN THE FIRST PLACE, wailing and moaning about everything he does. "
now you're saying "Just because you don't agree with everything a person does doesn't mean you have to TRASH them."
So, you don't have to BASH to keep your word - you just have to say that since the President didn't do what you wanted (keep the nominee) then you will withdraw your support.
Again, you said "if George Bush buckles to the hardliner malcontents, he will lose my support, period."
Now that he buckled to us "hardline malcontents," did he lose your support? Or is your word worth as much as I think it is?
"See, dimbulb, you've proved what a myopic view of life you have."
All I'm asking is that you keep your word. Or, is that too much to ask of you?
Are you that dense?
I said what I meant and I meant what I said.
I'm done.
I'm now going to be like the rest of you all -- my main goal in life will be just to tear down good people.
You're under the impression that not supporting somebody means you have to trash them.
And that's why you look so silly.
"Are you that dense? "
Maybe, you could always back out of this one by saying that you spoke in haste, and would never turn away from Bush, no matter what kind of asinine thing he did.
"I'm now going to be like the rest of you all -- my main goal in life will be just to tear down good people."
So - in your definition, "good people" are the ones who support abortion and affirmative action... and the bad ones are those who oppose it? How... creative.
"You're under the impression that not supporting somebody means you have to trash them. And that's why you look so silly."
You're under the impression that disagreeing with a decision made by the Great Bush is the same as "trashing." And that's why you look so silly.
No, I'm under the impression that calling a woman a "cleaning lady" and "perhaps a lesbian" is trashing a good woman.
"No, I'm under the impression that calling a woman a "cleaning lady" and "perhaps a lesbian" is trashing a good woman."
Those were the vast minority of comments.
Regarding cleaning lady, I think the comments were, why not have Bush nominate his cleaning lady? After all, she probably meets the minimum requirements as well... and it wouldn't be "elitist" like us Conservatives who want an originalist.
I don't think anyone CALLED her a lesbian, I think they just wondered, since she's 60 and never married. I don't think the question is off limits, though I being a lesbian shouldn't disqualify anyone automagically.
I'm just happy that we don't have to experience your brand of "supporting Bush" anymore, now that you aren't supporting him anymore.
