One of my squadron mates had two yzr-1000's we use to take them down to san diego whenever we would go out for a det.. that is where i got my speed fix... there were like 5 or 6 different dirt bikes that we would take out between all the guys in the squadron on weekends.. they were a blast..

Ironically I am currently looking for an old Indian to rebuild to tool around on.. :)

yeah... I remember a few of those days with my dad.. he use to have a Yamaha 400 I can remember him putting me in front of him on the seat and driving me around and them watching him try to pop wheelies on it.. :)

It is so sad, in his excitement of just getting it he probably thought he could just take it around the corner and it would be fine.

I don't know how the other accident happened. I know they were in a vehicle and he did say one of them had a broken back. I was surprised too that the hospital would allow them to still be there since it was after midnight when he called.

These are GI's, the military ought to have a regulation about this if it doesn't already. Such as: whether home or on base, you don't ride a motorcycle outside a closed training course till you've passed both basic and advanced MSF or equivalent.

Prayers for your son's friends. I grew up around motorcycles and lost a friend in a bike accident when we were only 11 yrs old. My brother just laid his bike down a few weeks ago going 55 mph on I-15 in Utah. Luckily he only had a few broken ribs and a crushed helmet. It saved his life.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for all those gathered in prayer for the lives and full recovery of these young men. Look with mercy upon them, O Lord, and overrule, with the touch of Your healing hand, all dire predictions for their outcome. Fill them with the strength of their youth ... surround them with prayer ... tend them with the wisdom of their medical team. Thank You for the friendship of angel's son for these servicemen ... may he soon know that his friends have been spared. In the Name of Jesus, may it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus ... Amen ...
