....some jobs are so dirty you can only send in someone who has the finely honed hatred of liberals acquired at elite universities

The devil is an abstraction for normal, decent Americans....at the top universities, you come face to face with the devil every day, and you learn all his little tropes and tricks

if we're looking for lawyers with giant brains....we want the nerd from an elite law school

Being on the Supreme Court isn't like winning a "Best Employee of the Month" award. It's a real job.

To casually spurn the people who have been taking slings and arrows all these years...while ignoring your infantrymen doing the fighting and dying.

While Bush was still boozing it up in the early '80s, Ed Meese, Antonin Scalia, Robert Bork and all the founders of the Federalist Society began creating a farm team of massive legal talent on the right.

Batter up.

"Batter up."

Pinch hitter okay?

Sorry to everyone who's offended, but I agree with almost every one of the comments you quote.

Bush makes no secret of the fact that he has in the past drunk more than might have been wise, that he in fact "boozed it up" in the 80s (as I did in the 70s and early 80s, till I got married. The last time I was seriously drunk was Dec 31, 1986.)

She doesn't imply that he's boozing it up now, or deny that people can change -- repent, reform, and get on the right track.

You might say that she's guilty of lese majestie, but we don't have royalty in our republic. In the US, truth is a defense against slander.

The only thing she says that I disagree with is that a finely honed hatred of liberals can only be acquired at elite universities. At the same time, though, time at elite universities could confer valuable experience in dealing with the little tropes and tricks of Satan's catamites, and that experience might be difficult to gain elsewhere.

And aside from Scalia, they've remained a "FARM TEAM".
No other Big Leaguers there unless rhetoric counts.

The constitution is not that difficult to understand.
