Administration: Rangel 'losing it' (McClellan doesn't disagree with Cheney portrayal of congressman)

At today's White House press briefing, presidential press secretary Scott McClellan said President Bush "strongly supports" Vice President Cheney in his recent comments suggesting Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., is "losing it."

WND asked McClellan about Cheney's remark to two talk-radio hosts, which he made while talking about Rangel having compared Bush to Bull Connor, the Alabama police commissioner whose resistance to civil rights made his name synonymous with Southern racism in the '60s.

Cheney commented that Rangel "was so out of line, it almost struck me that Charlie was having some problem. Charlie is losing it, I guess."

McClellan responded to the question about Rangel, saying, "The president strongly supports the vice president. The vice president strongly supports the president. I don't know that I could add anything to what he's already said."

The fact that the 'Rats are comfortable with Rangel and others like him spouting these deranged ideas shows just how detached the 'Rats are from mainstream America.

30-40 years serving the public can do that to a person, i guess. term limits might be the answer...

Rangel would have subpena power if the dems were to win back congress.

Conyers and Rangel would be running a circus in the house.

Charles Rangel is 75 years old. His mental state is subject to question. Look at "Drooling" John Conyers. He's only a year older than Rangel, and he lost it long ago.

They allow doddering old fools to sit in the US Senate and on the federal bench too long, too.

I think Rangel is not losing it, since he never had it to begin with.

Rather than make it sound as if Rangel is mentally unbalanced, I think the admnistration would be better off attacking him for the ludicrous, outrageous statements he makes. Slam Rangel and his ilk for the vicious lies he tells, and blame him and the far left for poisoning race relations in this country.

I heard the Q&A on C-SPAN -- it was really funny. First, there were giggles in the press room, then you could hear Kingsolving say in response to McClellan's answer "well, I guess they agree!" For the first time ever, Kingsolving, who ALWAYS has an "in your face" tone, sounded impressed with an answer by the press guy.

Rangel is in line to replace the Byrdbrain.........

I wonder the Dems end up senile and ranting, while the older Republicans are the best?

Hmmm.......

Cheney should be out there every day fighting the administration's battles and taking heat. A VP who doesn't, is a lousy VP.

Substitute "MSM" for "rats" and this will be even more accurate.
