CNN takes Limbaugh comment out on mistress Daryn Kagan

CNN: Daryn Did Not E-mail Rush; Rush Was Not Referring To Daryn It looks like Media Matters jumped the gun on this one.

"Daryn Kagan did not send any notes to anyone about President Bush's speech yesterday," a CNN statement said today. "The item is grossly incorrect. No comment made on Rush Limbaugh's program was a reference to Daryn Kagan."

An e-mailer adds: "Let me [as a Rush listener] clarify for you that this week started off w/ Rush joking about a mistress in N.C. The next day he mentioned his 'mistress' in FLA. The day after that it was a Mistress in GA. Now he is getting calls & e-mails from women from other states volunteering as a mistress from their state. Based on much of the "logic" I've heard regarding Miers' conservative credentials, the fact the Rush is dating a CNN reporterette means he is an obvious liberal and simply cannot be trusted.

I guess Rush is going to have to adapt some form of a sarcasm tag, since it's pretty obvious he is zinging stuff right over the heads of his critics.

I did get something of a chuckle out of the Media Matters Crowd reacting like that, though...

Or, alternatively, take two...

"The Right Wing Media has infiltrated CNN using Rush's 'mistress', who is almost certainly Daryn Kagan...."

And the scary part is that CNN was so worried that their new authority on all things Talk Radio, MMFA, had fouled up, they actually took the trouble to detail how Kagan had not said anything to Rush about it!

Judging from this response, I guess the critics at MMFA also honestly believe that Rush Limbaugh really sits in the Prestigious Atilla the Hun Chair, has a real microphone made of Gold, and that there really is a think tank called the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies.

I can only imagine some activist staffer using Google Earth to try and locate the EIB Fortress while another frets about what really will happen if he unties that other half of his brains. Man, no wonder they're so hell-bent on getting him off the air!

I just love it when "sophisticated" opposition members who can barely ever cease telling us all how much smarter they are than we are get tripped by a college dropout doing a routine that most saw as nothing more than Rush having a little fun.
