Chief Wiggums needs to find another line of work.
But one thing here in the Northeast that drives me nuts is when seniors cross the street when they think there's a gap in the traffic instead of walking an extra block to a traffic light with a signalled crosswalk.
They never judge the distance right and are liable to cause accidents.
It might be possible to put signs up OLD PEOPLE CROSSING---a bent over figure with a cane---LOL

Wow. I was reading this story and thinking about all the elderly people in our complex....sometimes I watch those old ladies crossing First Ave or 23rd Street (inch by inch with their walkers/canes) and I just know one day a cab is going to hit them....sad.
