"My big litmus test is, `Would I want my grandchildren to do this?' " said Campbell, who also opposes the books because they come from the NRA."Visuals of guns are inappropriate for children."
IMO This woman is a hysterical anti-gun zealot, who cannot possibly make a rational decision regarding Eddie Eagle.

These books probably violate today's federally mandated MAHP

Sharon J. Campbell, principal of Jones Elementary School, who reviewed some of the Eddie Eagle material. "I'm not sure a coloring book is the best way to teach gun safety." Well, I have agree with her.
The police department should use their service pistols for training instead.

Does she have children and own a TV? She would rather
have the child stumble into one and not know what it was,
or mimic behavior seen on TV. This is the "ostrich"
approach to gun safety.

Compared to what outcome in the control (un-taught)
group? Oh, there was no control group?

Oh, that explains it.

Seems to me that educating children to leave guns alone is a good idea. Why this would be opposed is beyond me. My father hunted and I grew up around guns. He taught me at an early age not to touch them unless he was with me. I learned a healthy respect for firearms, and safe usage. Sadly, I guess some parents don't do this. This video and coloring book may save lives. I'm sure people weren't this worked up over Smokey the Bear:)

Yeah, let's keep our kids totally ignorant about guns and how they can keep us safe. I ordered a coloring book yesterday.

I took the NRA gun safety class at age 11 before my father gave me a .22.
It was training that you can't put a price on, and I recommend it without qualification.

Let your grandkid's parents make those decisions and butt the hell out. You had your chance to raise your kids, give them the same courtesy.

There is no way to prove this, but I am willing to bet that
Eddie Eagle has saved a hundred times the number of children saved by the efforts of Sarah Brady and her ilk.
And I guarda#ntee that Eddie Eagle has saved a million times those saved by the whinings of libwacko Principal Sharon J. Campbell.

I think JPFO has some pamphlets that can be used as coloring books.
"Dial 911 and Die", "The Nazi Roots of Gun Control", and others.
They are much more political than anything NRA offers under the Eddy Eagle program. I say we should offer the JPFO books as the alternative.

The
"Eddie Eagle" message"
If you see a gun:
STOP!
Don't Touch.
Leave the Area.
Tell an Adult.
How is that "pro-gun"?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why are these libwackos really against "Eddie Eagle"?
Because Eddie Eagle reduces the number of child graves available for gun-haters to "dance upon" in support of their gun-confiscation agenda!
