Hmmm...I found that book to be extremely repetitive...like he took a two-chapter story and expanded it by running through the same anecdote again and again. I have to disagree. I found the whole history behind the creation of the OED to be fascinating, and Minor's story to be very interesing as well.
Also didn't help when I found out he'd made part of it up.
So what part did he make up?

So what part did he make up? Some of his hypothesizing about what led to the autopoe
But the part that really gets me is what Winchester has admitted is 'amusing and romantic' fiction, the story of the first meeting of Drs. Murray and Minor, a tale that was first told by Hayden Church. However, in places like PBS, Winchester has implied that it was true--blurring the line between fact and fiction for his marketing purposes. His credibility is shot for me, since we can't trust anything he presents to have truly been the way he presents it.
