I came here today because I believe that American democracy is in grave danger. It is no longer possible to ignore the strangeness of our public discourse. I know that I am not the only one who feels that something has gone basically and badly wrong in the way America's fabled "marketplace of ideas" now functions.
How many of you, I wonder, have heard a friend or a family member in the last few years remark that it's almost as if America has entered "an alternate universe"?

Maybe it's just something I picked up from my dad....who defected from the Dems after seeing Gore debate Quayle in 92....He was a Gore supporter in 88 and said "After he hooked up with Clinton he just drank the Kool-Aid"...I dunno...I always was under the impression that the Gore of the 80's was a Dixiecrat
As long as the DemocRATS continue to look up to the likes of gore, Ted (the swimmer), and Hanoi John, the Republicans will occupy the White House and both houses of Congress.
BS. This jack-ass has been trying to re-invent himself since he was born. He's as dopey as John F'in Skerry.
Both Kerry and Gore have the same syndrome I've dubbed, It's my destiny. They both firmly believed that it was their divine destiny to become President of the United States. The realization that their dreams of Presidential glory will never be, have driven both Kerry and Gore to the fringes of insanity.
Al, I find it extremely easy to ignore the strangest of them all, you.
What a maroon!
The golden boy of the communists' move.org speaks once again.
Stuck on stupid? Hell, I invented stupid!
Al Gore
I haven't heard that one, but nothing would surprise me with this fruitcake.
Would someone send me a freepmail if there is a audio link to this or any other of algore's past speeches.
The first sign that you're going crazy is that you think the rest of the world is off its rocker and you're the only one thinking clearly.
I can't help but think of Gore as "Chief Inspector Dreyfus" in the Pink Panther movies. I can easily imagine him sitting there with a twitch repeating over and over, "Bush, Bush, hahahahah, Bush..."
Regardless of what he was....he's in LaRouche land now...
He does resemble Inspector Cluso(sp?)...
