I feel the urge to point out that Christianity has a history of violence as well, what with the crusades and all. Anyway, I'm a big fan of the USA, and I really enjoy learning about the history of the frontier. I think it's unwise to pigeonhole people according to religion. Welcome to FreeRepublic. There are over 20 major conflicts around the world. Who is causing the trouble? I'll answer -- ISLAMISTS. No, not all Muslims are terrorists. But you know what, we are damned tired of heads being cut off and innocents being bombed. I can't speak for hundreds of years ago, but right now my Catholic church is not the ones cutting off heads. Let us look at some countries facing terrorist problems today:
America, Israel, Russia, India, Phillipines, Thailand, UK, Spain, China(!!!),.....the list goes on. What's common here? Well, all these countries have a significant Islamic minorities. Why is it that you muslims have a problem co-existing with ANY culture that you live in (as guests at that)? Why is it that you don't provide minority rights to Christians, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, and others when you are a majority (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Algeria, among many others)? Do you still fail to understand why the world has a problem with Islam?

People like you run around claiming that Islam is a religion of peace. How dare you compare a barbaric religion like yours (that promises rewards for killing infidels) with civilized faiths?
