There was no analysis of what the documents actually said, no work done to look at the content, no comparison with the official record, no phone calls made to check the facts of the story, nothing beyond a cursory and politically motivated examination of the typeface.
So... according to the now fired Mapes, all stories should have their content thoroughly discussed, whether they are made up or not. In the old days that was called mud-slinging. Sounds like something right tout of the DNC play book... Investigate because of the seriousness of the charge, who cares if there is no evidence.
Bill Clinton was charged by a woman with rape. I don't recall the MSM or democrats screaming for an investigation.
If you can show that the memo had to have been a forgery because of the typeface, none of that other stuff matters at all. Had this been a trial, the judge would have thrown the case out of court no matter what the other evidence and then gone out loaded for bear looking for who submitted perjurious evidence in his courtroom.
