The only time I've ever heard of someone committing suicide by bomb was when the intention was to take a bunch of others out with them! If this guy "wasn't" a terrorist bomber, he certainly did a fine imitation of one.

Trying to enter a crowded football stadium with a backpack of explosives would qualify you as a terrorist bomber. The fact that you attend a mosque and have some Pakistani friends would also make me curious.

I'm not an expert on suicides, but I just bet that the statistics would show that bombing oneself as a way of suicide (other than terrorists) is rare....and THAT has to be the biggest understatement of the century.

Y'know, that was the very first thought I had when I first heard of this. I'm not at all surprised to hear about the latest developments, but this thread was the first news I've had that it might have been an actual attempted terrorist attack.
