One of the many reasons why I believe that the "angel" who spoke to Mohammed wasn't an angel at all...

I think if Mohammed had taken his Thorazine we would all have been spared a thousand years of his infectious insanity....

Too true. But something bothers me about ALL children of Abraham. What's the difference between Abraham and Andrea Yates? If a voice in your head tells you to kill your children, you can be pretty sure it ain't God talking to you.

It's hard for me to see his "vision" as a purely natural phenomenon, because purely destructive natural phenomena tend to the chaotic and disordered. There is a pernicious order and logic to Mohammed's religion.

Mohammed's religion is diabolically ingenious. In order for the religion to gain widespread acceptance, Mohammedanism doesn't deny the God of the philosophers (First Cause, Prime Mover, Supreme Lawgiver, etc.) because the God of the philosophers can't be rationally denied. But Mohammed (or more probably, the devil) makes God the author of both good and evil, thus allowing many evils to be done in God's name. Many vices which are tempting to men are labeled as virtue, thus appealing to the worst characteristics of men, and ensuring the religion's spread, most often by force.
