With the army and the national guard abroad, the last thing we need is to have civil strife here.

With the army and the national guard abroad, it's a handy moment to clean up some stables here...

My bad..you ROCK! Sheepishly..I realized I screwed it up last night and did not bother to correct it because it didn't seem to interest folks and seemed a bit 'vanity'..lol. Thanks for the trace back on the whole thing...I really do appreciate it.

Add me to the list. I've always been a proponet of self-reliance, but until this past year I didn't realize how we truly ARE on our own when it comes to national security. We've got a congress who's more worried about our enemies rights than our own safety. Let's say we are attacked by a suicide bomber-what would George Bush's plan of attack be? Putting out good vibes to our nation's religion of peace or delivering a devastating blow that send our enemy reeling? Hell if I know...

"The press is lying. The Government is lying."

I never stated that the press is lying. I inferred that the Government may be withholding information from the press due to an ongoing investigation.

"The major difference is that you or I might be able to stop a jihadist suicide bomber by our own individual actions."

I'm in agreement with you on this point.

"So yes, I am POd at you, and people like you, who try to downplay the necessity of individual situational awareness under heightened threat conditions"

This is where there seems to be a misunderstanding. I have never attempted to downplay individual situational awareness. For that matter, nothing in my post even remotely touched on that subject. Again, my post was simply conjecture on perhaps why most of America hasn't heard about this incident.

I believe we are both on the "same page".

I had a slight zap from my Tin foil hat....could the agent that was detected in the DC Mall have been a strain of the Avian Flu and not the Rabbit Fever that we were told or speculated about?

I have some colleges who travel to China and claim that the Avian Flu was really some kind of bio project the Chinese were working on to annihilate people, including their own....but then again that's just hearsay and not fact. Just seemed like another "odd coincidence" that right after the DC monitors went off a couple days later we got a statement from W that the Avian Flu might become a problem for us here in the USA and quarantines and Military may be used to isolate any outbreak of the disease. Terrorism comes in all forms, including keeping us in the dark.

David Boren is close to the Bush Family and thought Clinton should resign from President the first night. He is a Democrat but in the last election endorsed our two GOP Reps and one GOP State Senator for the OK legislature.

That said, his son ran and won a Congressional seat in the heavily democrat district in NE Oklahoma. If you look at the donations to Dan Boren you will see large contributions from the OU falculty and staff -- lot of arm twisting went on about that.

I would assume he is not close to the Clintons since neither one of them has been invited to OU or he is the politician that knows Oklahomans cannot stand the Clintons or liberals. Right now I am leaning toward the latter.

He was head of Senate Intelligence, was an advisor to Clinton and now Bush since he has been OU President for ten years. He recommended Tenent who was his protege to Clinton to head CIA and got Bush #43 to keep him on at CIA which was a bad move in hindsight.

I have speculated that his ties to Tenent make him not want to admit that we do have active terrorists not only in the Country but right here in OK and this might just lead to reopening of the OKC Bombing which I believe is Al Qaeda related now. For some reason some people want the truth on the OKC buried just like this. I would love to know why!

I think they may take the site down sometimes to update it following the local news at 10:00. It has happened to me a couple of times when I was looking for something.

"I believe I'm also right in presuming that a suicide bomber driving into a market and killing 60 people in Detroit would get quite a lot of play in the press."

Think again......

As I have posted before, my relative works at the University of Oklahoma.

She has spoken to students who knew this nut job.

She says that many say he had Muslim leanings and may have been enticed into bombing the stadium.

Someone needs to ask how the bomb was set off.

Didn't one witness, the bus driver say he was removing something when the bomb went off.

Maybe one of the other conspirators saw that he could not get into the stadium and decided to use the cell phone to take him out as a statement.

Usually the masterminds behind these bombers have plenty of intelligence but don't have a lick of common sense.

I don't believe the FBI about this bombing.

Secondly the FBI bungled the investigation into the OKC bombing and then tried to cover up their mistakes.

There were so many lies told in that investigation it was hard to discern the truth from fantasy.

We are a college town torn between the liberals and the conservatives -- but the conservatives are gaining every month! Another few months and we may outnumber the RATs in voter registration here in Norman. Slowly but surely we are becoming more conservative.

"why today is all I could think."

Could it be that they don't want you to just give your tickets to somebody - if you use their "system", they can track who's sitting where?
just a thought...

I think the kind of explosives used in the bombing, known as TATP (triacetone triperoxide) cannot be detected by smell by any trained bomb sniffing dogs. It was the same stuff used in the 7/7 bombings in London and the stuff used by the shoe bomber. If anything was phantom, infortunately is is the explosure materials....oh and I fogot, the MSM.

Ditto me on the disenters. Government needs to be honest about the problem and address it.

If Clinton had been honest about the OKC bombing in the first place, WTC II might not have happened, and the Oklahoma hive might have been rooted out before now.
