Can you get a change of roomate or better still a room on your own or can you not afford that?

I can't afford my own room. I already had to get an extra loan because the cottages cost more than the dorms. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get a refund of the difference in cost if I changed dorms. My roommate is essentially trying to shove me out the door. Last night, during the meeting, she kept insisting that she should get to stay because she's worked really hard to be in the cottages (apparently a 3.0 GPA is required) and blah blah blah. Today in a letter to me, she parroted what the Residence Life director said last night about how some of the other dorms are more community oriented and it might be better for me because of my shyness, etc. I don't think she cares at all about me getting over my shyness, she just wants the room. I've never been inclined to be anyone's doormat and I don't see a reason to start now.

There was a Mayan city of Tulum right on the beach near Cancun in Mexico that was mysteriously deserted. Maybe the Mayans just got fed up with the hurricanes and left
