Doctors "the patients fall ill and die within 2-3 days"
10 dead - 40+ hospitilized 80+ sick.
Unknown illness in Toronto.
The liberals' solution to the social security insolvency problem is now in motion.

Toronto mystery illness kills four more
TORONTO, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- A mysterious respiratory illness has killed four more residents of a Toronto nursing home, bringing the total number of deaths to 10.
Two new cases of the illness were discovered at the Seven Oaks Home for the Aged on Monday, but the city's medical officer of health, Dr. David McKeown, said the outbreak appears to be subsiding.
"We're confident the outbreak is under control," he said. "As far as we can tell, there's nothing unusual about an outbreak of respiratory illness in a long-term care facility."
The four new fatalities include three women, aged 82, 92 and 94, as well as a 92-year-old man.
Since the illness was discovered Sept. 25 at the facility, 70 residents, 12 employees and two visitors have been affected by the outbreak, and 40 residents have been hospitalized, the Toronto Star reported. The home is not accepting new patients and is closed to visitors.
Doctors have ruled out influenza, avian flu and SARS and say it's possible they may never be able to identify the exact bug that caused the illnesses.

This one kills much faster than SARS. Why is it they can't identify this bug or are they just keeping it to themselves to avoid a panic?
Thoughts?
Even the regular flu can cause this many fatalities in nursing homes. There have been flu seasons where we were losing a patient every other day. But, this may be different.
Do not rely on MSM for especially 'professional grade' news. Use specialized professional sources like, in this case, Pro-MED Monitoring Emerging Diseases http://www.promedmail.org/pls/promed/f?p=2400:1000
To do otherwise is to promulgate the MSM hysteria. See my dot.sig
Well, I've had a pretty bad case of the creepin' crud here in the states the past few days. I do think I'll live though.
Sounds like whatever this was has been isolated and is winding down.
One more reason not to go to Canada.... as if there weren't enough already.
NO, he's at the Holiday Inn all week!
It's in a nursing home. I'm betting it's "man made" in the sense that it will be traced to a bacteria in poorly maintained equipment of some sort. The example is the outbreaks of Legionaire's Disease in poorly maintained AC system.
They assume it is contagious. While this would be a long shot, what if something like anthrax which isn't contagious was to blame? I guess it would be more than just the elderly getting sick.
Well, it's not unusual for patients oppressed by Universal Health Care, anyway.
Yikes!
After listening to the President talking about the bird flu yesterday at the presser, I'm taking it a lot more seriously than I did before.
Yep, the Chinese scientists are good at spreading their disease.
Just how does telling us an unknown, unidentifiable disease is killing people, avoid panic more than telling the truth?
The article says they've ruled out Legionnaire's Disease. That would have been my first guess.
Put me down for Legionaries Disease.
I'll say. There is not even a mention of this outbreak on the home page of the Toronto Globe and Mail.
