NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The Pakistani roommate of a man authorities say died when he detonated an explosive device outside a crowded football stadium was led in handcuffs from a party shortly after Saturday's explosion, the head of an Islamic student group said.
Fazal M. Cheema, a finance major, shared a university-owned apartment with Joel Hinrichs III, 21, who died Saturday when a device attached to his body exploded as he sat on a bench outside George Lynn Cross Hall.
Cheema and three other Muslim students were led in handcuffs from a party by police after the blast, Ashraf Hussein, president of the Muslim Student Association, said Tuesday. They later were released...
...OU President David Boren said authorities continue to believe that Hinrichs... acted alone. He said Hinrichs' roommate, along with his acquaintances, were questioned by federal authorities...
The FBI said in a statement Tuesday that there is no current threat posed by additional explosive materials, that there is no known threat from anyone else related to the incident and that there is no known link between Hinrichs and any terrorist or extremist organization or activities...
Meanwhile, Norman feed store operator Dustin Ellison said Hinrichs attempted to purchase ammonium nitrate a few days before the explosion...a key ingredient in the 1995 attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
The FBI told [Hinrich's father]...more high-density hydrogen peroxide was found in the apartment.

You forgot the Egyptian Air plane that did a header into the Atlantic while the pilot screamed "ALLAH ACKBAR!".
Nothing to see here. Move along.
From first KTUL article. Cindy Morrison reports "...rumors that Hinrichs tried numerous times to get into the stadium that night.
The FBI (website )is now heading up the case and had no comment today. But, sources in law enforcement confirm Hinrichs used a very unstable explosive that may well have gone off early by accident.
Some published reports claim Hinrichs' bomb was the same homemade explosive used recently in London. Acetone peroxide is extremely volatile. Experts tell us it can detonate if dropped even an inch.
We called Scotland Yard today and were told if Saturday's bomb was the same material as the London bombings, the FBI would have contacted them. But, the investigator overseas wouldn't confirm if that had happened.
The investigation into the explosion continues. And, investigators are trying to find out what Hinrichs had in mind that night. Our sources do confirm evidence in Hinrichs' apartment shows he made the explosive and even tested it prior to Saturday night."

That is what they used? Nasty stuff.
Odd statement!
Extremely odd. Everything his father says is kind of bizarre-sounding.
Dear Mr. Bin Laden,
We caught your bomber, but he exploded before we could stop him.
You should know that his roommate turned and gave us his whole e-mail list and phonebook. We're coming for all of you, please wait for us to get there.

You folks happy now?
That what you want?
Jeeeeze.....
"Hinrichs has three names if you include the Third" -- Alluding to Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts' conversation on lone assasins having three names in the movie Conspiracy Theory. They debated the merits of including John Hinkley Jr because Jr. was his third name.
Maybe the Feds should search the house for Catcher In The Rye (/sarcasm)
I would expect these folks are already being watched. As for the news blackup, I suspect that when someone under surveilance manages to commit a crime, the authorities are reluctant to admit they were watching. It's a competence thing.
I think there was some of this going on with Oswald and Kennedy.
He obviously had a good explanation for the explosives in his apartment.

Thanks so much for the ping.
I guess I found humor in your comment. I'm just thinking about Cops, and all the excuses the perps give..
"What explosives?"
"What smell? Oh forgive me. A thousand pardons, I got the runs from my girlfriend's kush kush."
"That? That's not mine. That was here when we moved into the residence."
They know there is a Jihadi problem!
No problem. I've got to end my run with this thread for now. Bye all.
LOL!!
I liked the excuse that it was aready there.
What's funny is how this is being covered up in a big way. If these terrorists acts didn't succeed, then I suppose the authorities believe we don't need to know. It's very frustrating.
Good work. I've been watching the local media the best I can and haven't heard anything. Then I find out that DelGiorno has mentioned it, along with KTUL/ABC. Let's hope this keeps up.

My client merely FOUND these drugs, your honor, and was on his way to the police station to turn them in at the time of his arrest.
Ping.
They really need an editor here, "The Pakistani roommate of a man authorities say died when he detonated an explosive device outside a crowded football stadium was led in handcuffs from a party shortly after Saturday's explosion, the head of an Islamic student group said."
Sounds like the Paki died when he detonated an explosive device and was arrested later.
Did he have a cell phone and was a call made just before the explosion?
